An armed clash broke out between the Arakan Rohingya Army and the Rohingya Solidarity Organization in Camp 8 East on the night of 30 October 2026.
The fighting started at around 1:00 a.m. and continued until about 2:30 a.m. According to information received by Rohingya Monitor, ARA members first attacked RSO outposts in B-52 Block.
The outposts were located around the house of Abul Kasim, a prominent RSO member also known as Akkasim. He has long faced widespread allegations of involvement in drug trafficking inside the camps.
During the attack, ARA members shot Abul Boshor, son of Abdul Ghoni, in the abdominal area.
During the attack, ARA members shot Abul Boshor, son of Abdul Ghoni, in the abdominal area at the B-52 outpost. RSO fighters at the same outpost immediately fired back. At that moment they saw a person in B-33 Block and mistook him for an ARA member. The RSO members from B-52 then shot the man in B-33, who later turned out to be one of their own. He was injured in the friendly fire.
At least four people were affected in total. Two were injured and remain alive. Local residents claim that two others were killed, but their conditions are still under verification.
Camp 8 East in Balukhali, which borders Camp 7, Camp 8W and Camp 9, has been a high-risk area for several years. The camp has long been linked to yaba storage and repeated clashes between armed groups, particularly ARA (also known as the Nobi Hussain group), RSO and ARO.
Rohingya Monitor’s review of activities in recent years shows no significant ARSA presence in Camp 8 East, although ARSA supporters and members have been active in other camps.
However, some residents and online users have claimed that Solim was involved in the Camp 15 Jamtoli incident who is linked with the ARSA according to information but it’s not been verified yet by the authorities in the camp.
On the same night, several other incidents were also reported in Camp 8 East, Camp 14 Hakimpara and Camp 15 Jamtoli.
Rohingya Monitor continues to gather more information and will provide updates as further details are verified.
