Rathedaung, Arakan State — The militant Arakan Army (AA) has ordered Rohingya residents of Ah Nauk Pyin village (အနောက်ပြင်ကျေးရွာ) also known as Muzai Fara in Rathedaung Township to leave their homes by 17 October 2026, according to reports from local villagers.
Villagers said AA militants warned that anyone who remains after the deadline will be arrested. Mobile phones and other communication devices have already been confiscated from the residents, cutting them off from outside contact. The AA militants also threatened to kill Rohingya villagers if they failed to leave by the given date.
In a phone call received from the villagers and affected families, residents reported that 51 people from the village have been abducted by AA militants. One dead body among those taken was later returned to the village. When a local resident asked the AA militants why they had taken the man alive but returned him dead, the AA militants also took that villager away.
Families say they still do not know whether the remaining abducted people of 51 in total are alive or have been killed.
The villagers are urgently calling on the Rohingya community and the international community to pay attention to the situation and to take all possible steps to protect those who have been abducted and the remainings of the village. The abducted people are youths and men of the village
