A 30-year-old Rohingya woman was allegedly physically assaulted and verbally abused by several members of the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) in Camp-07 on the night of 25 October 2026.
According to the victim, identified as Minara of Shelter No. 38A in Block F-1, the incident occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. She told Rohingya Monitor that a group of alleged RSO members came to her shelter looking for her husband, who had recently returned from Malaysia. When they did not find him, the men took her to a hilly area near Noka Field in Camp-07.
Minara stated that she was forced to sit near a large water tank and was then assaulted. She said the attack took place because the men could not locate her husband. She was later released with injuries to her body.
The victim named the following six individuals as participants identified in the alleged incident:
1. Anayet Ullah
2. Mammat
3. Mv. Abu Salam
4. Amar / Rawfique
5. Dil Mammat
6. Daw Hla Futia
The account and names come from the victim and have been separately verified as the members of the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO). The named individuals have been confirmed by sources connected to the report to have taken part in the alleged events. Independent investigation is still required to establish the full facts and determine responsibility.
Threats, intimidation, forced disappearances and other forms of violence in the camps have increased significantly since 2021. Security forces deployed by the Government of Bangladesh should take appropriate measures to prevent the rise in crime across the camps.
Most of the crimes are being carried out by members of the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) which attempted taking control of the entire camps in 2021 and taken control fully and became functional since 2022.
